BarCamp Policy

BarCamp is a grass-roots event for people to come learn, share, participate, network, and gather with like-minded people. It grew out of the experience that the best conversations at conventions were in the hallways.

The key things to remember are that product presentations and sales pitches are not allowed.

There is a two foot rule: If you find that you’re not interested in a session or conversation you can simply use the two foot rule and walk onto the next room/session/discussion without disruption or feeling as if you’ve offended anyone.

No one is permitted to attend to pitch their services or products or events. It is not allowed. No sales presentations. Period.

In addition, individuals who run pay-to-pitch organizations are absolutely NOT permitted to attend.

We are also not allowing anyone who works in a service industry, but claims to be coming “on their own” to show up to sell their services. This event is about sharing not selling.
